Effective thread

Effective thread Per ASME B1.7-2006 Definitions [ back to main page ]

Effective thread: the effective (or useful) thread includes the completer thread and those portions of the complete thread that are fully formed at the root but not at the crest ( in taper pipe threads this includes the black crest threads), thus excluding the vanish thread.
