ENERSOL S15 FORCE/TORQUE FITTING ASSEMBLY MACHINE for ISO 594

NOTE:
ISO 594 has been rescinded and replaced by ISO 80369-7. Because of the change from ISO 594 into ISO 80369-7; all tests per ISO 594/1 and ISO 594-2 should now be switched to tests per ISO 80369-7 (ISO 80369-20).

NOTE:
Enersol Model S15 Fitting Assembly Device is no longer available for purchase. Replacement was S15A Connector Assembly Device, which has been replaced by S15B Connector Assembly Device.

NOTE:
Depending on its individual calibrated values, and which tests are to be conducted; an Enersol Model S15 Fitting Assembly Device may be useful for ISO 80369 testing.

Enersol model S15A Connector Assembly Device

IF YOUR COMPANY OWNS THE ENERSOL MODEL S15:
This machine may not be completely out of date. The Enersol Model S15 Fitting Assembly Machine was designed to meet the not-to-exceed requirements of ISO 594. Those requirements were stated as maximum limits. With the implementation of ISO 80369-20, the assembly parameters were modified to include minimum limits in addition to the maximum limits. By luck of the draw your machine may fit within the ISO 80369-20 parameters for some of the ISO 80369 sub specifications. This can be determined by reading your Calibration Certificate and checking to see if the actual results are within the ISO 80369-20 limits. If so; you are good to go. If not; contact us and we may be able to make some adjustments to your existing S15 so it will mimic the newer Enersol Model S15A Connector Assembly Device.

Force/Torque Fitting Assembly Machine
The Enersol S15 Force/Torque Fitting Assembly Machine is the base machine which is needed for all of the ISO 594 specified tests. The Force/Torque Fitting Assembly Machine is made from aluminum and hardened steel. The Force/Torque Fitting Assembly Machine has a durable and attractive anodized finish. The Force/Torque Fitting Assembly Machine has been designed to be compact and easy to use, with no other requirements like an electrical supply or compressed air, etc.

The Force/Torque Fitting Assembly Machine is an integral part of Luer, needle and syringe testing and is used to assemble reference fittings to samples under test. It is also used to assemble needle hubs with syringes for tests in ISO8537. Known axial and side weights are required for preparation of samples and are supplied with the kit.

The Force/Torque Fitting Assembly Machine is used for preparing samples for tests such as liquid leakage, air leakage, separation force, ease of assembly, stress cracking, unscrewing torque and resistance to overriding. The Force/Torque Fitting Assembly Machine comes with a range of axial and side weights for use with ISO594-1, ISO594-2, ISO7886 series (Parts 1-4) and ISO8537.

S15 - Force/Torque Fitting Assembly Machine
*NOTE: This test is not required in ISO 80369-20. Rationale given in Annex A; Paragraph A.2 ; Page 3; Clause 1 Scope:
The ease of assembly test method that was part of the ISO 594- series has been removed as a requirement from the application parts of ISO 80369 and is not present in this part of ISO 80369. The acceptance criterion of the ISO 594- series for ease of assembly was subjective. It was under-defined for a standardized test method, i.e. “a satisfactory fit” is not repeatable. Furthermore, the intent of the ease of assembly test was to ensure that the user can complete the connection using the mating halves of the connector. This requirement is satisfied by the requirement for usability validation for all new connectors being added to ISO 80369. Therefore, the ease of assembly test method has been omitted from the ISO 80369- series of standards.

*NOTE: Per ISO 80369-20; Annex A; Paragraph A.2; Page 4; Annex E Stress cracking test method:
This stress cracking test method is performed in the same manner as in the ISO 594- series. The acceptance criteria have been changed to require passing a functional leak test after the stress cracking
test has been performed
